Southern Fried Chicken Burger
A Southern twist on the classic chicken sandwich, this fried chicken burger is crispy and flavorful.
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaise for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, and pepper
Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes
In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, and cayenne pepper
Dredge marinated chicken breasts in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350F 175C
Fry chicken breasts for 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through
Drain on paper towels
Toast the hamburger buns and assemble the burgers with lettuce, pickles, mayonnaise, and fried chicken breasts
Serve hot
